Iris had wandered far from her icy home. The frozen expanses of the north hadn't really drawn her in, and the female had wandered from her home a time ago. The days had passed in a blur until the colorful female found herself here. It was a nice place, actually. The sparkling river burbled and splashed as it raced along. The water was clean and clear, and the sight of running water was a welcome sight. She had grown used to it since she'd left her frozen home behind, but every time Iris saw a river, it was still . . . a new sight. She liked it.
The white female wagged her tail happily as she made a split second decision, her rainbow tail flailing in the air as she launched herself into the water with a splash. There was no attempt on the white female's part to hide herself as she splashed around, messing around happily in the water. She treaded water awkwardly, still not entirely comfortable in the water as her orange gaze sought out one of the few fish that hadn't immediately fled.
The female's eyes narrowed sharply as she focused on the silvery fish and imagined it a bright, neon green. Unfortunately, the fish didn't stay put for nearly long enough, though Iris was pleased to see that there was a slight greenish tinge to the fleeing fish's scales. Maybe it was wishful thinking and maybe it wasn't, but Iris was quite pleased by the site.
Splashing happily in the water, Iris ducked her head beneath the water, resurfacing moments later and shaking her head vigorously. The chilling feeling of the just melted ice water wasn't exactly pleasant, so Iris splashed to the opposite side of the bank mere moments after jumping in and dragged herself out. She vaguely resembled a half drowned rodent as she shook herself vigorously, sending water spraying every which way.
And just like that, the female flopped down in the sun and let her eyes drift shut, content to doze off in the warm sunlight and hopefully dry off.

The large wolf walked calmly along the riverbank, allowing his large paws to sink into the soft, moist soil as he moved. His sea-foam eyes were watching the water closely, but didn't seem to be seeing anything. His mind wandered aimlessly, as his paws carried him further and further from his pack. He was from the Phoenix Pack in the deep south. A pack that ruled over a large volcano. A pack that was blessed with nothing but fire wolves. Each wolf had their own ability with the fire, but only the pure of the pure had the white fire ability. Many of the wolves in the pack were gifted with fire, but had ungifted or different gifted parents and siblings, making them unpure. There were a few that were second or third generation fire wolves in the pack, but then there was the Alpha's family. Each one of the members of the Alpha line had paired with another pure bred, one that was at least a third generation fire gifted.
He was special though. He was a twentith generation. He was pure, and even purer than his father. The same father that gifted him with the White Fire ability. White fire... A fire so hot... So powerful... that it burns in a white state. The White fire made the large male almost immune to all other heat related ailments. Burns, heat stroke, dehydration.. All of these things were unknown to the large male. He could walk on the surface of the volcanoes magma, and be happy.
So what was the Pure Fire Wolf doing here? He had been sent on a test by his pack. With his brother also being a White Fire Pure wolf, there was much confusion on who would, one day, take over the pack. So the brothers had been sent in opposite directions, one to the north east, and one to the north west, to see who would survive, make the biggest difference, and come back the strongest.
Of course, Kunnon was not thrilled with this test. He knew he could beat his slightly smaller brother in brute strength and in looks, but he didn't know if Fenole was as.... charismatic. If he was, then Kunnon knew the race would be a close one. Not that Kunnon really wanted the position. He was pleased with being in the rank he was now, where he could be his typical spunky self. But if he got the leader position... he didn't know if he would have to change....
Kunnon was deep in his thoughts when the splashing sound made his blue-green eyes lift from the water and up to the bright figure just up the river. He watched as the white-multicolored wolf bounded out of the liquid and into the sunlight. He snorted with amusement slightly, then moved forward once more. A loner? Maybe just a scout or packmember of a nearby pack. He wasn't too sure, but it was the first wolf he had seen in days. It was nice to see someone of his own species.

Slitted orange eyes focused on the large blue male as he padded closer to her. Iris wouldn't have noticed him, in all honesty. She was pretty tuckered out from messing around in the water, and she was enjoying the warmth of the sunlight, but the breeze had carried his scent towards her and had caught her attention. And her rainbow ears twitched lazily as she examined the male carefully.
He was . . . handsome. Of course, this coming from the female who had crushed on every eligible bachelor in her pack and then some, that didn't really mean much. But he truly was handsome. Iris' rainbow tail twitched lazily as she flexed her paws, debating carefully whether or not she ought to get up. With a handsome male waltzing right by, it didn't take long for Iris to decide that yes, she was darn well going to get up and say hello.
Stretching lazily, Iris rose to her paws and shook herself vigorously as she blinked slowly before turning her gaze towards the male. "Hi!" Iris said brightly, wagging her tail slightly as she set her attentions on him. It had been a while since she'd seen another wolf. And she, like all wolves, was an inherently social creature. So sure, he was handsome, but Iris would have started talking to ugliest wolf ever at that moment in time and wouldn't have cared less. She just wanted someone to talk to.
"What brings you out here?" Iris questioned curiously, tail flicking idly as she examined the male. He didn't look too strange, honestly. Maybe she had honestly discovered across a truly normal wolf out here. It would be a first since she'd left home. She still remembered running across a very snappy brown female who'd threaten to shred her 'pretty little face' if she didn't vacate the premises very soon. And that had been one of the first wolves she'd run across since leaving her pack. It had soured her for meeting others that weren't from her own pack.

Kunnon was prepared to walk right past the little female, seeing as she wasn't jumping to her feet or saying anything to him as he approched. Oh well, it wasn't the first time he had to walk right on by others of his species. He was used to it.
Yet, life was full of surprises and Kunnon's eyes soon shifted back to the female as he heard her getting up then bark out a friendly greeting. He was surprised, to say the least. He really didn't think he would go noticed. Not that he minded. Company was good, no matter whom it was coming from. "Greetings." He barked out, tail twitching happily as he looked at the brightly colored wolfess. She was quite interesting, that was for sure. He didn't understand how a wolf could be so vibrantly colored, but then he just remembered about his own blue and silver pelt. So he was vibrant too, but he didn't have the range of colors that this one had.
Kunnon's thoughts were interupted by the curious and happy wolfess that he had just stumbled upon. "On a journey to grow wise and strong. On a journey to better my life. Same journey that so many others are doing, isn't it?" He asked with a small, wolfy grin on his maw. His blue tongue lolled out of his maw for a moment, showing his slight amusement. His nose, which matched his eyes and tongue in color, twitched as he took in the scented air.
"What about you, Colorful? Come by here often?" He bubbled with amusement for a brief moment, but only showed it with a small chuckle and bright eyes.

Iris perked up immediately, her tail wagging slightly when the male started to talk to her. She liked it when wolves talked to her. It made her happy! And here he was talking to her. Which made the female's rainbow tail flick happily as she eyed him. He was certainly an interesting coloration. Not that Iris really had room to talk. But he was rather handsome. And the easily crushing female was crushing on him. To an extent. She was being pretty good for her and keeping her emotions under control.
Hmm. Philosophical words from this wolf. It almost made Iris feel bad about why she was there. And it certainly made her opinion of this strange male increase just a little bit. "No matter how many wolves are on the journey, it's still a journey to be proud of, right?" Iris was proud of herself for sounding so wise. The almost childish female certainly wasn't going to be staying so wise sounding for long. "And as long as it's fun it's worth it!" And there it went. "Are you having fun?" Iris tilted her head curiously, eyeing the male. There was something to be said for having fun. Fun was the best part of life. It was an integral part of life.
A snort of laughter escaped the white female, and it took her a moment to collect herself. Her tail wagged happily as she did so, "Well, I'm just stopping by. I'm on a journey too, you see. But I don't exactly have such noble goals. I'm just exploring the world." Iris grinned happily, ears swiveling as she surveyed the area.
There was something she wanted to say, though... It took her a moment to remember exactly what it was that had been on her mind. "OH! My name's Iris! What's your's?" Iris chirped happily, practically bouncing as she eyed the male. It was probably an interesting name to go with his interesting color.

Kunnon watched the female, his eyes easily noting how her demenior went from mild and calm, to happy and perky within a split second. So she was an excitable one? Nothing wrong with that. He had met his fair share of perky and depressed wolves in his short, yet eventful life. The perky ones were always more interesting... Well. Interesting wasn't the word. The depressed ones always had an interesting story to tell, but the perky ones were just... more amusing. Yes, that was the word. They were easier to be with, and you didn't find yourself becoming depressed.
"A journey is a journey, I guess," Kunnon shrugged and flicked his tail absentmindedly. His gaze shifted around for a moment, a force of habit to be honest, but was back on Iris as she asked if he was having fun. He snorted and shrugged his hackles. "You can call it that, I guess," He muttered as he blinked a few times, still grasping her energy. Quite the bundle of sunshine, indeed.
"Very pretty name, Iris," He complemented the female as he lowered his head in a nodding-bow to her in respect. "I am Kunnon. Pleasure to officially meet you," He snickered a wolfy grin and raised his head proudly. He wasn't typically proud, but it was a bit hard to keep it contained when you haven't seen another of your kind in so long!
