Every hundred years, four spirit talkers are born. Spirit Talkers are those people who can see, and speak to the spirit Protectors, and followers of other people, and themself. Each person has a Spirit Protector. A spirit protector is an animal with a unique attribute, name, and elemental gift. They are strong, and tend to be the creature that guides people, without their person knowing it. Spirit Followers are a weaker, normal animal spirit that follows a person and their protector. They too have their own name. One of the spirit talkers always has the Death Spirit. The Death Spirit is a very powerful spirit protector that can destroy other spirits and controls Icy soul fire. One of the other Spirit Talkers is the Light One. The Light One is also very powerful, and can create other spirits. The lightone is always white with a little black, and the Death is always black with little white. One is always female, and one is always male. It is from them, that they keep balance between the other spirits, or grey spirits. It is up to these Spirit Talkers to keep the peace between Humans, and spirits. [/i] Maikoda walked alone. Her coppery hair and brown eyes glittering like fires as she looked down at her Spirit Protector. Matsi. Matsi the black wolf, with silver head and shoulder fire markings. Matsi of the icy soul fire. Matsi, the Death one. Oh how she loved her Protector. The young 18 year old looked up at the peoplee around her. They probably all thought she was crazy, for smileing at something unseen next to her. She didn't care. Matsi, am I crazy? She asked her protector as her brown eyes darted to the silvery, spirit dragonfly on her shoulders. Mojag, her follower, was quiet right now as he listened to His human and protector. No, My girl. You are not. You are gifted, The Death one explained to the young girl. Maikoda smiled and relaxed as Matsi reassured her. [/i]Maikoda, just remember to avoid the scientists that want you as a weapon[/color][/i] The dragonfly hummed as he took flight from his human's shoulder. Maikoda nodded, gettting more odd looks from the people around her. She could see their Protectors and Followers, and she grinned. If they only knew...

A single, white and black tiger strode at the side of the young boy. A spirit protector that controlled ice of the name Arjun. It had a nice ring to it, Jason reflected idly. It meant white, he'd realized at some point. Cheesy, but it made sense. Arjun was a white tiger with black stripes. But Jason had long since stopped discussing the creature in public. After his mother had told him that he needed to stop playing with his imaginary friends, he'd kept his mouth shut about Arjun and Sekou. Sekou was an orange Maine Coone and also one of Jason's constant companions. He referred to himself as a spirit follower, just as Arjun called himself a spirit protector. Whatever floated their boats, man.
The young man exhaled at the thought, snorting as his breath made a mist in the air. "Condensation." He spoke aloud. Two twin cat voices made rumbles of agreement, though none could hear them. "You guys don't make condensation." He tilted his head and stared at the two cats. On the streets like this, he had a degree of immunity. Everyone stared at the funny kid who was talking to thin air, but no one would report home to his mother about him talking to Arjun and Sekou.
Arjun flicked his white and black tail, responding for Sekou and himself. "We're spirits." And that was all. Like Sekou, Arjun wasn't very big on talking. That was what happened when you had two cats as your spirit creatures. Honestly, Jason was just glad to get a response out of Arjun. Often, the tiger guided him silently, and he had to rely entirely on Sekou for conversation. Sekou wasn't a great conversationalist. Actually, none of the spirit animals that he saw were great conversationalist. They tended to ignore him completely.
It didn't really bother Jason. He had Arjun and Sekou and that was all he needed.
Speaking of which...
Arjun's head jerked up as a girl padded past them. She was just another girl, so Jason didn't really get it. "Have you got a crush, Arjun?" Jason's voice was light, teasing as he stared at his tiger spirit protector.
Instead of bristling indignantly at Jason's words, the tiger simply spoke, voice emotionless. "Go talk to her." If Jason hadn't been able to see him, he would have simply compelled his human to talk to the woman, but since he could, well, this was much more direct.
Indeed, Jason reacted quickly. He broke into a jog after the girl, extending his long limbs so that he caught up with her, Arjun moving gracefully along at his side. Sekou, he noticed, had perched himself on Arjun's back and was balanced there, staring up at him. "Hello, miss." Trying his best not to look like someone that needed to be hit with a purse or something, Jason offered his best version of a comforting grin.

Maikoda jumped slightly as a young man ran up to her. She stopped and looked at him with wondering brown eyes. She looked over at Matsi, who only watched the tiger. Maikoda couldn't tell what the spirit was thinking about, so she looked to Mojag, wondering what he was thinking too. He was silent as he buzzed around her head. She wanted to ask them something, but she didn't want this young man to think she was crazy. Her attention then moved to his tiger. She smiled slightly. He was pretty, so was his follower. She shook her head.
''Uh, Hey,'' She said in a content tone as she tried to focus in on the boy. Cute boy, she wasn't going to lie. That didn't matter. She shook her head again. ''Mai,'' Matsi said softly as she looked up at her human. Maikoda looked down at the wolf, frowning, wanting to ask what was wrong. The wolf said nothing more, making Maikoda slightly irritated as she looked back up at the boy. ''Maikoda, talk more, human of mine!'' Mojag said happily as he landed on Maikoda's shoulders. Maikoda couldn't help but smile. The little silver dragonfly always made her smile.
''What can I do for you, Mr....?'' She smiled sweetly to him, trying to make a friend. She didn't have many friends anymore. They all thought she was insane, which could be true. She wasn't sure if talking to the spirits was normal, or if she was really talking to them, all she knew was that they talked back and she was going to continue to talk to them. She had to hide it from this young man though. She didn't want to scare him away immediatly. That would be bad, and depressing. Spirit company was nice and all, but she did crave the company of a living person. Someone with a beating heart and the warmth that only something living could have.
