He had been out of school for a year now. He had his own house, a nice house at that, and a small studio only a few blocks down the road. It was all good for him. He had a new motorcycle, had a job that he liked, and a good girlfriend. What more could a guy want? Well, he wasn't too happy that Lera was making him clean out the house and studio. Most of the things that sat in the yardsale now were highschool works that he never finished, or no longer needed. An old lyric book filled with songs he had written for five bucks... A cd of all of his songs for three... And a multitude of recording equipment, cds, instruments, pictures, paintings, furnature, and his old bike. He was brining the last panting out of his garage. It was the one he was most attatched to, but Lera was most intent on getting rid of. It was of his highschool crush, holding a night lily. It was a close up of her face and hands, holding the flower to her nose. It was only half finished. Only her eyes, face, part of her hair and part of the flowere were colored. None of the background was colored. His signature was already in the corner.
That was his only regret. He had never asked the shy girl out. She was a year younger than him, and a complete different gang or rank than he was. Which was probably why he liked her. She was a shy little nerd. Amara was her name, he remembered it clearly. Why hadn't he asked her out? Why?! It didn't matter. He had himself Lera. She was one of the varsity cheerleaders from another school. She should be the perfect girl. Maybe too perfect. She didn't need him for much. No protection, for she clearly could take care of herself, no money, which he had plenty of to spare, and no house of her own. All she really used him for was attention, which he really wasn't the best at giving the attention Lera wanted... Hmph.
''Perth, you done yet?'' Lera's blonde head stuck out of the front door. Her green eyes glittered with excitement. Perth only nodded to her and flopped down into a chair. Lera skipped out, her hourglass figure gracefully gliding to her car with signs in her arms. She was heading to put signs up about the yard sale.
She was only gone for about five minutes. Not enough time, sadly.Maybe he should just dump her. But then he would get himself into trouble again. Before he had Lera, he went to jail for a month for fights (heh). He had been a wreck with drinking...and everything else. He knew he would just start that again. Shit, why did this have to be such an issue.
As he was deep in throught, Lera sold his Tesla Guitar, his most prized guitar.

8 years later, Time goes by fast, Got my memories, And they will last.
Amara Morozov, older sister of Lane and Arianna, really wouldn't have felt the need to come to a garage sale if Lane hadn't insisted on dragging her sister out on a drive. Hinto was busy or something like that, and Amara had been Lane's second choice. So Amara had dragged herself out of the apartment that she shared with her great dane-german shepherd mix named Loveless. She had recently adopted him from the local shelter when she had moved into the apartment. It had taken some wrangling with her landlord to get him to allow the dog, but now that she had Loveless, she was happy. Sure, it was lonely, but having a dog made things a lot better. It was a lot less boring too. Loveless was a bit of a handful, but he was adorable so it was worth it in her eyes.
The large canine currently had his head hanging out the window in the back seat while Lane drove down the road, off in search of something. Or maybe Lane just wanted to drive. Either way, when the college student spotted the yard sale, she hit the brakes, making Amara yelp as her seatbelt locked. "You could've warned me!" She said reproachfully as she glanced at her sister, massaging her chest even as leaned over the back seat to check on Loveless. The dog wagged his tail slightly, and though he seemed startled, he was pretty much in one piece. That was good.
Lane grinned at her sister, "There's a yard sale! C'mon, we're gonna check it out." With that, Lane pulled onto the side of the road in front of the house and wandered out of the car, headed straight for the arrangement of stuff. Hmm. Maybe she'd pick up something for Hinto. Lord knew her boyfriend still liked to pretend that he was in a band. The day that he got famous would be the day that the sun set in the west, but Lane humored him all the same.
Amara sighed, shaking her head slightly as she slipped out of the car, grabbing Loveless' leash as she did. Opening the back seat, she clipped the leash to his collar and let him leap down from the seat. Rubbing his head with a fond smile, Amara turned and wandered towards the yard sale. She watched with an amused expression on her features as Lane picked up a guitar, presumably for Hinto's 'band' and then forked over some money for it. She had never really understood the point of yard sales, but hey. If it made her little sister happy, it was fine with her.
Wandering up to the table with Loveless wandering at her side, Amara examined the stuff absently. She flipped distantly through a book of lyrics, her fingers skimming lightly over the pages. Some of them sounded vaguely familiar to the college senior, but she couldn't put her finger on why. After a long moment, she patted Loveless' head again and started to move closer to her sister. Loveless kept close to her legs, his bulk a comfort to the girl as they made their way along.
I try to keep it simple, Cause I hate goodbyes, And I try to keep it simple, By telling myself that, I will remember you.

Lera patted Perth's shoulders a few times, muttering something to him, but everything she said just went over his head. He was far too gone, lost in his own thoughts of what he was going through and what he was doing at the moment. With that, Lera wandered towards the two young women that were making their way, with their dog, up to the yard. Lera's eyes glared at the canine for a moment. She hated animals, and had Perth find a new home for the puppy he had found a few weeks ago. Dogs were the worst of them all, but if it meant they would take some of this crap she could deal with the dog for a few minutes. "Afternoon!" Lera said in her happy, and slightly cocky voice as she leaned on a table covered with half filled sketch books, small instruments. She didn't care that she brushed up against a pile of old, self made CD's, making them fall over into a slightly messy pile. Her bright blue eyes glittered, begging for them to take something, anything! She didn't want to see the haunting faces of Perth's past anylonger. She didn't want him to waste any more of his time on that worthless hobby.
"Please! Look around and don't hesitate to ask about anything!" She said as she fixed the c.d's, then moved a few of the large canvas paintings to look more appealing. Though, she doubted anyone could appreciate anything that Perth made with instruments or paint, or lead. It was so worthless!

So I'll say 'Why don't you and I get together and take on the world, And be together forever, Heads we will and tails we'll try again,' So I say 'why don't you and I hold each other and fly to the moon and straight on to heaven, Cause without you they're never going to let me in'
Examining the stuff absently, Amara was easily engrossed in what she was reading. She liked to see what others had created. Something about this was bugging her, anyways. She could tell that it was familiar, but other than that, Amara was drawing a total blank. She didn't know why it was familiar. Perhaps it just reminded her of a childhood band that she had loved. That was quite possible. So, with a reluctant sigh, Amara moved along, tugging absently on Loveless' leash. The dog padded silently at her side as Lane examined things a little bit ahead of the dog and human duo.
When the girl appeared and started talking, Amara squeaked nervously, jumping slightly. "Oh, uh, afternoon?" She spoke softly, grabbing Loveless' fur for a bit of strength as she eyed the girl curiously. This girl looked pretty intimidating. She was the kind of girl that still scared Amara, even though she was almost out of school. It was pretty childish, sure, but Amara was pretty childish, especially when it came to intimidating people like this girl. And Lane. This woman actually reminded Amara a little bit of Lane. That was what was truly nervewracking.
Lane, meanwhile, was examining an old CD absently. "Mar, do you think Hinto would like this?" She asked curiously, picking it up and dangling it in front of Amara's face. "I mean, he could use it to draw inspiration from whoever this person is... Anyways, does it look like I put thought into it? I think we have, like, an anniversary coming up and I need something for him stat." Lane said, frowning slightly. Was it bad that she didn't know her anniversary? Probably, but then again, that wasn't why Hinto was with her. He was with her because she was gorgeous and awesome, not because she could remember dates.
Amara looked blankly at Lane for a moment, then nodded. "Uh, sure. You know he'll like whatever you get him." Amara added after a moment, nodding absently as her gaze flicked about curiously. She picked up the song book that she'd been examining for so long at last, examining it curiously. It didn't seem to have a price tag on it. Maybe it had fallen off... She would've asked the girl, but the girl was scary, so that left the guy she'd been talking to earlier.
Blinking nervously, Amara wandered towards him, chewing on her lip as Loveless padded along at her side. "Hey, uh, how much does this cost?" She questioned nervously, rubbing Loveless' head nervously. The dog wagged his tail cheerfully, licking Amara's hand with a happy noise as Amara practically wriggled nervously.
When's this fever going to break? I think I've handled more than any man can take, I'm like a love-sick puppy chasing you around, Ooh, and it's alright, Bouncing round from cloud to cloud, I got the feeling like I'm never going to come down, If said I didn't like it then you know I'd lied.

Lera smiled at the two girls for a moment, but soon lost interest and wandered back to Perth. "I am going to go inside. I will be back out in a bit," She said in a very matter-of-fact tone. Perth only looked at her with a glance that said "you have got to be kidding me, shoot me now," but then nodded and leaned back in his chair once more. He was so miserable, and he figured with Lera going inside, he would feel a bit better. At least she wouldn't be with him, telling him how to sit or price things.
Finally, it calmed down a bit, for him at least. He was oblivious to the two young women wandering the yard, and as far as he knew, they could have bolted with an armfull of things and he would have never known. Yet, he wasn't gifted with such bliss. Not that he was ever gifted with bliss or anything really that good, but still.
The moment the voice appeared so close to him, he jolted and almost knocked himself backwards in his chair. His hair flopped and danced around on his head and into his face for a second, only adding to his scrambled look as he sat up more, his silver eyes slightly wide, but also irritated. He looked at the girl, then to the book, and thought for a moment. "What do you think a man's deepest secrets and most hidden feelings are worth?" He said cooly. He was curious as to if this girl thought she was even worthy to read the songs that he had written about his past. He hadn't even let Lera read them, until more recently, and that was because she found it while cleaning for this damn sale. So much for keeping things to himself.

Every time I try to talk to you, Get tongue-tied, Turns out, everything I say to you, Comes out wrong and never comes out right.
Amara tilted her head, an amused expression appearing on her features as the man nearly fell out of his seat. Something about him seemed familiar, but Amara wasn't sure why, and she wasn't too interested in digging any deeper. The sharp look in his silver eyes assured her that he was rather scary and Amara shrunk slightly back against Loveless. The dog butted his head against Amara's hand with a wag of his tail, mostly ignoring Perth as Amara smiled fondly down at the dog. She relaxed slightly as she rubbed his head in a friendly manner before looking up at the guy again. "I don't really think that I can really assign a value to that?" Her voice was questioning as she eyed the man curiously.
Lane examined the wares absently as Amara talked to the guy, honestly not even feeling that bad about ditching her sister to talk to the stranger. Lane was pretty selfish, sure, but she had faith in Amara anyways. She had that ridiculous dog, didn't she? And Lovless seemed to give Amara a lot of confidence. It was too bad the mutt didn't count as a service dog, considering he did help Amara a lot. Maybe if Amara went deaf, she could take the dog everywhere...
Lane snorted to herself, an amused smile appearing on her features as she leaned forward to examine one of the CDs carefully, trying to see if they were scratched or damaged. She knew little about music and CDs and stuff like that, but Lane did know in the very least that scratched CDs were bad.
Amara, meanwhile, was still examining the guy. She was trying to decide what kind of answer she should give. "Uh, it's probably worth more money than I have with me." She added after a moment, rubbing the back of her head absently, "Did you write them?" Amara added after a moment, tilting her head consideringly as she eyed Perth.
Slowly I begin to realize this is never gonna end, But about the same time you walk by, And I say oh here we go again, oh.

Perth's eyes glanced over Amara, thinking. Something, just something, was familiar. Then, his gaze shifted to Lane, his glance sharpened. "Drop one and your head will be hanging above my mantle," He snarled slightly, his hands tightened on his chair arm slightly, but then he relaxed as he looked back at the young lady that was standing in front of him. "Of course I did." He said with a slightly sharp tone to his voice, possibly left overs from his snap at Lane, then again, it could have been new irritation. With Perth, it was always an uncertainty.
"I was in a band a couple years ago," A slight smile flickered across his face for just a split second. "Wandering Spirits," He said with a slightly, almost dreamy sigh behind his words. He then shook his head, trying to snap himself out of his past thoughts. Damn past.
"Name your price. Lera just wants them gone. Doesn't matter what I say," He said with a huff and a slightly sharp glare back towards the front door that Lera had gone into.

Lane smirked at Perth, rolling her eyes in the general direction of the snappish man. "Oh, please. You're too busy appreciating my good looks to behead me." The cocky girl responded, though she did place the CD down delicately just in case he did go in for the kill. She really wasn't sure she liked this guy. Maybe this garage sale had been a bad idea. But at least Amara seemed like she was enjoying herself. Though Lane honestly was paying absolutely no attention to her older sister, in all honesty. She was enjoying looking at the stuff that currently dominated the lawn of this man.
Amara, meanwhile, snorted softly at her sister. "Don't mind her." She muttered offhandedly. "She's a little . . . full of herself." Amara said quietly, glancing cautiously over her shoulder to ensure that Lane hadn't heard her. "That's pretty interesting, though." Amara added after a moment. It was impressive that he had written all of those songs. Some of them were pretty though. Well, okay, all of the ones that she had seen were pretty. She liked them, though they sounded quite familiar.
Wandering Spirits. Amara frowned for a moment, tilting her head slightly. "That's funny, there was a band at my high school called Wandering Spirits." She said cheerfully, "That's pretty interesting, huh?" Amara grinned, rubbing Loveless' head as she eyed the man with a newfound respect. It wouldn't last long, of course, since she'd be leaving as soon as Lane got bored and then Amara would, in all likelihood, never see him again. But hey, she respected him so far. Bands were interesting. She liked music, though she wasn't musically inclined at all.
After a long moment, Amara shrugged and pulled out her wallet. "I have seven dollars on me." She said, pulling a five dollar bill and two one dollar bills out and offering them cautiously to Perth. "Does that sound acceptable to you?" Amara asked with a slight, cautious smile. The guy was rather intimidating, as much as she found the fact that he'd been in a band pretty interesting. Of course, Lane's boyfriend was in a band. Which was why they'd showed up at this rather interesting garage sale.

Perth shot Lane another glance as she smirked and replied. He was ready to take her head off right then and there, but he kept himself undercontrol and only sank lower into his chair. His silver eyes glinted with his irritation for a moment, and he tried his best to change his attentions to something else. Like this young woman that was saying something very interesting.
With her interesting words, he tuned out her "pocket change" talk, and just looked at her, thinking. "Manor Highschool. Bass, Hinto Spiritwalker, with Lane Morozov as his girl friend. Vincent Valentino as guitar with his girl Alicia Metlam. Nikan Zaleski was drums, and often accompanied by his sister Catori and her boy-toy, Frino. That Wandering Spirits?" He asked, his eyes fully narrow now.
"I'm Perth Johnston. Who are you and why do I feel like I know you?" he finally snarled softly as he looked back over at the woman this one came with. Now that he really looked at her, she looked familiar too. What the hell was going on?

Amara blinked, her eyes widening slightly as she listened to him rattle off familiar names and familiar faces. "Hmm... Yup. Lane's my baby sister, actually. Hinto's still in the band." Amara commented with a nod, frowning slightly as she ran through the list of band members. Vincent, Hinto, Nikan, Frino and . . . Perth. Her high school crush. Well that was . . . interesting. Was this really him? Amara frowned, looking him up and down curiously. Well. It was a small world, after all. How odd.
Still, there was only one way to find out. Amara took a moment to collect her thoughts. "My name's Amara Morozov. And we had a bunch of classes together. Plus with Lane all over Hinto 24/7 we did run into each other a few times." Not that Amara had talked much back then. Not that she talked much at all now, but back then she'd been even quieter and shyer.
Rubbing Loveless' head absently, Amara tilted her head curiously as she eyed Perth. "Wow, it's been a while." She muttered softly. Knowing that it was Perth who stood right there startled her. But it was also kind of hurtful to know that he had moved on with his life and she certainly hadn't. She was as single as ever and he had a gorgeous girlfriend. Oh well. Life wasn't fair, was it? But she didn't really expect fairness from life. And it wasn't like he'd ever been interested in her anyways. So she had no right to be upset.

Perth couldn't help but smile as Amara agreed with him and mentioned all the things that he remembered that just went with his own story. So that was why he remembered her. Hell. She changed so much, yet so little. She was so...grown up looking now. Funny how just over a year, someone could change so much. He even had to give Lane credit for that too. She looked...only looked.... more mature, though he doubted that she really acted it. Yet, he still smiled slightly as he stood up and grabbed a near-by tennis ball. "Awesome. Then I don't have any guilt in doing this," He said softly as he winked at Amara and chucked the ball at Lane, landing it right in the back of her head. "GODDAMMIT LANE! QUIT TRYING TO GET IN MY PANTS AND GET OFF MY LAWN!" He said loudly, but only smirked proudly once he had vented. Yep. That felt good.
Without waiting to see what Lane would do, Perth moved to look inside the house window, and noticed Lera no where to be seen. Awesome. He wandered back to Amara. "To think. You are the reason Lera is throwing a bitch fit. Quite ironic that you would show up," He said softly as he rubbed the back of his neck, shooting Lane a glance then making his way towards the piles of his paintings. He knew there was that unfinished one in that pile somewhere.
He started to flip through the pile of canvases, looking for the right one. "This is probably going to make me seem like a creeper. Not sayin' I'm not," He said with a nonchalant shrug. He didn't really care what others thought of him.
With that said, he hummed to himself until he found the right painting. It was a large panting, about two feet by three feet, on a thick canvas. It was unfinished, with only the girl's eyes, base color of her hair, and the white of the flower colored. The girl was holding the flower, which was to be a night lily, up to her nose, and all you could see was most of her face with a clear smile half hidden by the flower.
"Inspiration was from that time we had the bonfire at Hinto's house, and talked about the Night lily and moon roses," He said in all truthfulness. Wow, he was a creeper...Awesome.

Amara had to giggle at Perth's actions, a smile appearing on her features as the man chucked a tennis ball in Lane's general direction. "She needed it. Though Hinto might be upset if you hit her face." Amara said with a cheerful smile.
The tennis ball startled Lane, to say the least. She let oud a loud yelp and jumped sideways, shooting the man a nasty look. "You idiot, you almost hit me!" She didn't recognize who it was but it didn't surprise her that he knew her name. Hey, maybe he was one of her exes. of course, Amara would be sadly disappointed then, since he OBVIOUSLY wouldn't be interested in her.
Lera? Amara snorted to herself and shook her head slightly. To think that this guy, who had been single for all of high school had settled down with a girl lik that. It was interesting. She had no right to be jealous, of course, but Amara was. Just a little. Still, she wandered after Perth absently, grinning cheerfully to herself as Loveless padded along at her side. The brown dog's tail wagged contentedly as he wandered behind Amara.
Amara shook her head slightly and snorted. "I don't think you'd seem like a creeper." She commented, leaning over to look at the painting curiously. It didn't take her long to recognize a younger version of her, one who wore her hair dow instead of up and out of the way and who picked night lilies. It was gorgeous, of course, all of his art was great. and he didn't look like a creeper. It didn't seem recent, after all.
She bit her lip absently before speaking, "I love it. It's beautiful, Perth." She said with a smile. "Are you selling it?" She could probably get some money off of Lane and buy it if it was for sale! And Amara did want it. It was gorgeous.

Perth, of course, did his best to ignore Lane. Maybe she would go back and tell Hinto that some man threw a ball at her. Hinto was smart, maybe he would put two and two together and come and visit the antisocial young man. He doubted it, but it was thought.
As he allowed Amara to look at his painting, he shrugged. "I wouldn't be getting rid of any of it... If I had any say," He said with a slight sigh to his words. He looked at the half finished painting, mentally noting things that could have been added to, or finished. Of course, it wasn't finished so there were a lot of notes.
"Tell you what. You take it, and let me finish it tonight and tomorrow while Lera is at work, and you can have it for free," He said with a shrug. He really did just want to finish it. It bothered him to have a half finished piece going out into the public. Hell, it bothered him to be getting rid of it anyways. "And coffee will be on me," He added with a glance to Amara. No emotion was on his face, but inside, his heart was skipping slightly. Damn highschool crush!!
